Father's Memorable Read
Since my mother seldom read books, I had to interview my father instead. My father is completely the opposite of my mother. He is an avid fan of books, Chinese books to be exact. He would pick up a thick novel every fortnight when we visit the library.
One of his memorable reads is
The Legend of Condor Heroes by Louis Cha, or commonly known as Jin Yong. This novel "links some historical figures into the novel, like
Genghis Khan". It tells the tale of a young boy with a good heart growing up to be a hero. He likes this story as it is very fascinating and interesting to read. Just like how Genghis Khan says: Expect the unexpected.
This novel consists of six thick books, with about 1000 pages each. No matter how busy he is, my father will still take some time out to read this book everyday as he "cannot wait to see what happens next and how the story will end". After about a month of daily reading, he finally completed the novel.
Currently, the drama version of the novel is running on Channel U and my father is catching every episode just to "read" the story once more.
