Lesson 6: Compulsory Blog Entry (Question 1)

Lottery is a gamble that anyone can afford to play. However, it is gamble that not everyone can quit from and afford to play in the long run. Gambling is addictive. Lottery is the easiest way to start a gambling addiction because it seems cheap in the beginning, but is actually not after no winnings for a few rounds. The bets are slowly increased as the gambler hope to win back their losses. As the Chinese saying goes: "For every 10 times you gamble, you will lose 9 of the times." The odds of winning are low. With still no hints of winning, the gambler does not have enough money to keep up with his gambling habit. As a last resort, the gambler will turn to loan sharks. This would be the worst decision ever made. The interest rate is high and the consequence is deadly too. The loan sharks will start to disturb the gambler’s family to get the money he owns, causing excessive trouble for him and his family. In the Anti-Gambling advertisement, a line states: “Often, the people who really suffer from problem gambling aren’t the gamblers.” I totally agree with this. His family members and close friends will all be affected, thinking about how to repay the debts that the gambler owed.
